I let my hair down and

I was not expecting this and

insects came out of my teeth and
a fly landed on my eye and

a woman walks down the stairs in my head and
her heels are getting louder and
a woman walks down the stairs in my head and
she makes her way out of my ear and
pulls the camera up to her face and
she makes her way out of my ear and
my head and the insects are smiling and
she takes a picture of us and
my head and the insects are smiling and
I don’t show up in the picture and
she and the insects start laughing and
I don’t show up in the picture and
I don’t show up in the picture and
I don’t show up in the picture and

Chelsea is an artist living in Dexter, Michigan and is a recent graduate of the Helen Zell Writers’ Program at the University of Michigan. Her writing is influenced by her background in photography which she studied as an undergraduate at BGSU and as a graduate at Massachusetts College of Art and Design. Prior to moving to Michigan, she served as a Residence Director of a transitional group home for adults with mental illness.
