Contest Deadline Extended to September 8

Aug 29, 2017News

Black Warrior Review has extended the deadline to submit to our 2017 contests in fiction, nonfiction, and poetry. The new extended deadline is September 8.
A winner in each genre receives $1,000 and publication in issue 44.2, due out in spring/summer 2018. One runner-up in each genre receives $100 and acknowledgement in that issue. We may consider any submission for general publication. The $20 entry fee includes a 1-year subscription to BWR, so you really can’t lose! We have fantastic judges this year, and hope you are as excited about them as we are: Hanif Willis-AbdurraqibNicola Griffith, and Rachel McKibbens.
BWR is also thrilled to announce our first ever flash prose contest, also open for submissions through September 8. Read our full contest guidelines here, and check out our interview with judge Joyelle McSweeney.
There’s only 10 days left until the contests close, so get your work together and submit!
