Heading to Seattle for AWP

The editors of Black Warrior Review are delighted to be a continued presence at AWP’s Annual Conference and Bookfair.  Though the Pacific Northwest is known for rain as well as good literature, BWR hopes to see you, our fantastic community of readers, contributors, and friends, at our favorite national book fair Febuary 26th through March 1st.  Come visit our table (K33) to find discounted new and past issues, free T-shirts with subscriptions, broadsides, chocolates, and general good cheer.

Can’t make it to Seattle this year?  You’re in luck!  Visit our online store and you can pre-order a copy of issue 40.2 right now—this instant—at the bargain price of $12.  This issue features work by Amy Lawless, Joanna Ruocco, a chapbook by Sandy Florian, and many more!

Calling all Poetry and Nonfiction submissions

The editors of BWR would like to pay special thanks to all of the amazing writers who send us their work on a daily basis by featuring only unsolicited work in our upcoming issue (41.1).  This is our way of giving back to the community of writers who have supported us through 40 wonderful years.  Please visit our website to submit your best poetry and nonfiction.

Fiction submissions opening on March 1st

In less than two weeks we will be accepting fiction submissions again!  We would like to thank all of you for your patience while we finish reading your work stored in our previous submission manager.  We look forward to reading what you have produced in the interim!

Thank you for all of your support these past 40 years, and again we hope to see you in Seattle!
