Sarah Matthes is a poet from central New Jersey. She received her MFA from the Michener Center for Writers, where she won the Academy of American Poets Andrew Julius Gutow prize. Her work has appeared or is forthcoming with Pleiades, the Iowa Review, The Feminist Utopia Project, Yalobusha Review, and the Robinson Jeffers Tor House Foundation, where she won the 2019 Tor House Prize. She has received support for her work from the Yiddish Book Center. She is the managing editor of Bat City Review and lives in Austin, TX.
